Prosperity for New America (PNA) is coordinating rapid support for Somali individuals and families in Minnesota who are experiencing fear, harassment, or potential immigration enforcement actions.

3. Mental Health & Family Support

This moment is frightening for many families. Fear, stress, and trauma are normal reactions, but you do not have to face them alone.

4. Support for Schools & Employers

Schools and workplaces are often the first places to notice when families are afraid or impacted. PNA can help educators and employers respond with care and clarity. Please reach out to us to connect with you resources/community members and families.

5. Neighborhood Watchers & Captains

PNA is helping coordinate neighborhood-based support teams to look out for families, share accurate information, and offer practical help.

What Neighborhood Watchers & Captains Do:

  • Share verified information from PNA and trusted partners.
  • Check in on neighbors, elders, and families who may be afraid or isolated.
  • Help connect people to legal, mental health, or basic needs resources.
  • Coordinate rides, translation, and accompaniment to important appointments when possible.

What They Do NOT Do:

  • They do not confront law enforcement or immigration officers.
  • They do not spread rumors or unverified information.
  • They do not encourage anyone to put themselves in danger.
